Seattle senior living community earns International Council on Active Aging’s NuStep Beacon Award for being a ‘guiding light for all senior communities.'
SEATTLE, Wash. – GenCare Lifestyle’s Ballard Landmark Community has ranked seventh in the Top 25 “Best in Wellness” senior living communities in North America. The Seattle retirement community was awarded the prestigious NuStep Beacon Award from the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA).
Announced today by the ICAA, the award recognizes GenCare Lifestyle Ballard Landmark as best-in-class for successfully fostering a wellness-centered environment to benefit all who live and work there.
“This recognition is an important affirmation of the dedication of our entire team in delivering on what we call Whole Life LivingTM for our residents,” said GenCare Lifestyle Founder and CEO Leon Grundstein. “This is how we define wellness and how our teams create a healthy environment where our residents can eat, feel, think and live better.”
GenCare Lifestyle’s Whole Life Living program is how the senior living company makes wellness a core part of daily life. The program helps its residents thrive through a focus on wholesome delicious foods, fitness, activities to keep the brain sharp and opportunities for residents to discover new purpose.
GenCare Lifestyle’s Ballard Landmark Community is the only Northwest senior living community to make the list this year. GenCare was previously recognized by the ICAA for food innovation and its work to provide residents with meals from fresh, whole, and organic natural foods.
“Senior living communities have long been aware of how important wellness is for the health and well-being of their residents,” said ICAA CEO and Founder Colin Milner. “But, in recent years, wellness has evolved from being a programming option to becoming a way of life. GenCare Lifestyle has successively partnered with its residents and staff to create relevant, meaningful opportunities and inspire participants to improve their quality of life.”
